Weekly digest #67
Featuring D.O.A., Ratsalad, AFI, Mogwai, Noi!se and more

I donât think I need to tell you that libraries are cool places. But lest you be in any doubt, item 1: the simple act of kindness that is a hand drawn sign in Epsom library featuring the trans flag and offering to make any changes needed to your library card.
Item 2: cheerleading your reading taste, specifically this comment when I returned a book of poetry yesterday:
âWalt Whitman? Represent!â
Item 3: opening you up to unknown worlds. Most recently for me these included East German punk as recounted by Tim Mohr in Burning Down the Haus: Punk Rock, Revolution, and the Fall of the Berlin Wall.
Itâs less about the actual music and more a tale of how rebellion can not only exist within an authoritarian police state but shake its foundations by proving that change is possible, even when state spies are hell bent on bringing you to heel. Highly recommended in other words.
And now, your weekly digest. The links are mainly taken from my social media feeds, so if you want more of this sort of thing than you can follow me on Facebook, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon (Iâm also on Instagram).
